Senators Drop Fourth Straight Game, 3-2 to Akron

The Harrisburg Senators fell 3-2 to the Akron Aeros on Tuesday night in Akron. The loss was the fourth straight, all by one run, and their sixth in their past seventh games. With Richmond winning big on Tuesday, the Senators drop into third place and fell to 49-47 on the season while the Aeros improved to 57-39 and moved eight full games in front of the Sens.

Ryan Tatusko started for the Sens and was very good. He pitched into the seventh inning, leaving with a runner at first base and two outs after allowing a two-out walk. For the game he struck out seven and allowed just a single hit, a home run to Adam Abraham in the second inning giving Akron a 1-0 lead.

The Senators tied the game in the fifth on a bases loaded rbi ground out by Jose Lozada. Harrisburg then took the lead in the seventh on a home run off the bat of Justin Bloxom, his fifth with the Sens and 17th overall this season, giving the Sens a 2-1 lead.

After Tatusko left, Marcos Frias come on with two outs and a runner at first and gave up a single, wild pitch, followed by a two-run double giving Akron a 3-2 lead. Frias took the loss, falling to 3-4 on the season.

Tatusko pitched out of a bases loaded one-out jam in the first inning by inducing Juan Diaz to hit into an inning ending double play. Prior to the two-out walk in the seventh, Tatusko had retired eight straight Aeros.

The final game of the series is Wednesday afternoon at 12:05 p.m. with RH Ryan Perry on the hill for the Senators against RH Steven Wright for Akron.
