
Senators creep closer to attendance mark

The Senators attendance for Sunday afternoon was 2,893. The total number needed to reach five million fans stands at 8,714.
Counting Down to Five Million
The Harrisburg Senators are closing in on five million fans. Since baseball returned to City Island in 1987, close to five million fans have attended games at Commerce Bank Park during the regular season. When the Senators hit the milestone, there will be a celebration.
Although the exact date for reaching five million fans is still uncertain. Fans will have to keep an eye on the Senators' attendance, as they will want to be on hand that special night.
One fan will be selected at the end of the special game and that fan will win a $2,250 prize package, which will include 2008 box season tickets with parking. The winner will also get Senators' tickets to use this season, autographed items, a picnic with friends next year, Washington Nationals tickets with parking at RFK Stadium and much more.
All Fans in attendance when the Senators go over the five million mark will be eligible to win. Daily updates on the Senators attendance will be sent to the media, announced on Senators Radio broadcasts and can be followed on the Senators web site at www.senatorsbaseball.com.
At the beginning of the 2007 season, the Senators needed 159,882 to reach five million fans.
