New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Portland, ME - Ryan Patterson drove in two runs with a fourth inning double, snapping a 3-3 tie and Seth Overbey worked four shutout innings in relief as the Fisher Cats topped the Portland Sea Dogs 5-3 Monday night at Hadlock Field.
Patterson's double was the RELCO Enlightening Play of the Game. His hit, off starter and loser Chris Smith (3-6) followed a walk to Dustin Majewski and a single by Manny Mayorson (3-for-4). David Smith's solo homer leading off the fourth, his 10th, had tied the game at 3-3.
New Hampshire (52-48) took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a double by Rob Cosby and a single by Chip Cannon.
Portland (51-47) tied the game on Bryan Pritz' two-run double off starter Yusaku Iriki in the second. After Jeff Corsaletti tripled to lead off the third, Jed Lowrie drove him in with a sacrifice fly which gave the Sea Dogs a short-lived 3-2 lead.
Seth Overbey (2-0) allowed two hits in four innings of relief work to pick up the win. After allowing an infield single to start the ninth, Jesse Carlson gave up a single to Andrew Pinckney before retiring Pritz, Bubba Bell and Jeff Corsaletti to end the game. Carlson earned his third save.
As part of a 14-hit attack, Smith, Manny Mayorson and Aaron Mathews each had three hits for New Hampshire.
