Senators Announce 2009 Free FanFest

The Harrisburg Senators announced today that their 2009 FanFest is Saturday, April 4th from 12:00pm until 3:00pm at Commerce Bank Park. After several years of having the FanFest away from the ballpark, the Senators have moved the FanFest back to City Island. This year the FanFest is loaded with something fun for everyone in the family!

For three fun-filled hours, Commerce Bank Park will come alive with clowns, games, inflatables, mascot appearances and more. The gates to the ballpark open at noon for this free event. There will be non-stop action as the back concourse and ballpark come to life.

There are several events taking place at specific times:

- Introduction of the 2009 Klubhouse Kids is at 1:00pm

- Mascot and Klubhouse Kids autographs are at 1:30pm

- Question and Answer session with members of the Senators front office and special guests are at 2:00pm

Throughout the course of the event there will be various free activities including but not limited to:

- Stadium and Clubhouse Tours

- Inflatables including the super fun slide, speed pitch and moon bounce

- Midway carnival style games with prizes

- Caricature artist, clown and balloon animals

Individual game tickets go on sale online and at the box office on Saturday, April 4 beginning at noon. The Senators will open their brand new ticket box office located caddy corner to the ranger station on the Walnut Street Bridge landing. Come on out and check out the new box office while you purchase your 2009 individual game tickets. All season ticket and mini plans will be available for pick-up throughout the course of the day as well.

The Senators 2009 National Anthem auditions are also being held at the FanFest. This has become a very popular event over the past several years and we are expecting this to "sell out" quickly! To guarantee your spot and to schedule your time please contact Emily Winslow at 717-231-4449. The auditions will take place from noon to 3:00pm.

Even with all of that, there's more! Weather permitting we're opening the gates to the field and letting you play catch in the outfield. It's the same outfield that has seen Vladimir Guerrero, Milton Bradley, Rondell White and more play catch themselves! Follow in the footsteps of current and future major leaguer's by playing catch.

Wow, what a list of activities, but that's not all! There will also be a huge merchandise sale that day. The Senators will be aggressively pricing their remaining 2008 inventory to make way for all the new merchandise for the 2009 season.

With phase I of the two-phase $45 million renovation project underway at Commerce Bank Park, this will be your first chance to see the construction progress.

The exciting 2009 season opens on the road at Reading on April 9 with the home opener set for Thursday, April 16 at 7:00pm. Season tickets and group tickets are available by either phoning the Senators at 717-231-4444 or by going online to www.senatorsbaseball.com. Individual game tickets are set to go on sale Saturday, April 4.
