Curve Announce Giveaways For 2009 Season

ALTOONA, Pa - The Altoona Curve today announced the final phase of their 2009 promotional schedule. Phase IV, which highlights the team's giveaway schedule has been unveiled. During the upcoming baseball season, fans attending games at Blair County Ballpark will take home 11 outstanding giveaways.

"We're extremely pleased with the way our promotional schedule looks heading into 2009," said Curve General Manager Rob Egan. "It's very diverse and features a number of different items for fans of all ages."

Most giveaway nights will be held on Friday, as part of the Curve's Freebie Friday theme this season.

Below is the detailed listing of this year's giveaways:

ü Thursday, April 16 (6:35 p.m. vs. Erie) - 2009 Curve Schedule Magnet Giveaway, presented by Appliance Outlet (First 5,000 Fans, All Ages)

ü Friday, April 17 (6:35 p.m. vs. Erie) - Plastic Bat Giveaway (First 1,500 Fans 14 and under)

ü Friday, May 1 (6:35 p.m. vs. Erie) - Curve Umbrella Giveaway (First 2,000 Fans, All Ages)

ü Friday, May 15 (6:35 p.m. vs. Akron) - Curve Pink Tote Giveaway, presented by Lakemont Park (First 1,500 Women, All Ages)

ü Saturday, May 23 (7:05 p.m. vs. Reading) - Curve Camo Hat Giveaway, presented by Holiday Inn Express (First 2,000 Fans, All Ages)

ü Friday, June 5 (7:05 p.m. vs. Akron) - Diesel Dawg Bank Giveaway (First 2,000 Fans, All Ages)

ü Friday, June 19 (7:05 p.m. vs. Connecticut) - Webkinz Giveaway (First 2,000 Fans, 14 and under)

ü Friday, June 26 (7:05 p.m. vs. Bowie) - Nate McLouth Golden Glove Bobblehead Giveaway (First 2,000 Fans, All Ages)

ü Friday, July 17 (7:05 p.m. vs. Harrisburg) - St. Francis Bobblehead (First 2,000 Fans, All Ages) presented by the Altoona/Johnstown Diocese to coincide with the team's Family Faith Night promotion.

ü Friday, July 31 (7:05 p.m. vs. Trenton) - Curve Hat Giveaway (First 2,000 Fans, All Ages)

ü Friday, August 14 (7:05 p.m. vs. New Hampshire) - Curve Insulated Lunch Bag Giveaway (First 2,000 Fans, 14 and under)

The Curve's entire 2009 promotional calendar is now complete and is the most diverse promotional schedule the team has released in its franchise's history. Matt Hoover, the team's Director of Promotions is responsible for the construction and execution of the calendar, which is a year-round, work in progress.

"Matt's one of the best in the minor leagues," said Egan. "He's constantly keeping up with the latest trends in the sports industry. Being a native of this area and having five years experience with the Curve, he has a wonderful grasp on what our fans will enjoy the most."

Fans can reserve the best seats for their favorite game this week when individual tickets go on sale for the 2009 season on Friday, March 13 at 5:00 p.m. at the Curve's 2009 Baseball Bash. The evening's festivities will also include a fireworks show, free food and beverages, live entertainment and a 50 percent blowout sale on Curve merchandise.
