See "Superman" WIth "Superman"

June 16, 2006 - arenafootball2 (af2) - Green Bay Blizzard News Release

Ever since their inaugural 2003 season, the Green Bay Blizzard has had on their roster one of the most colorful players in the af2, WR/LB Robert Garth. Garrulous and confident, with a seemingly never-ending supply of swagger, Garth has earned his reputation as the kind of player you love to have on your team, and the kind you hate to have to play against. Always a big fan of comic book super-heroes, Garth earned the nickname "Superman" early in his playing career for his high-flying, acrobatic and aggressive style of play. Blizzard fans immediately embraced his alter ego, and Garth has gone on to set virtually every Blizzard receiving record on the books.

In honor of the upcoming premier of the new Warner Bros. Pictures release of "Superman Returns," the Blizzard is holding a contest to send one lucky Blizzard fan and a guest to dinner and a movie with fan favorite Robert "Superman" Garth. The lucky winner will be the first paid season ticket order taken by Blizzard Ticket Director Nick Olsen after 10:00am on Monday, June 19th. (The movie will be released on Friday, June 30th, and the date of this event will be determined to accommodate the winner's schedule.)

Prior to the start of the 2006 season, the Blizzard held a Season Ticket Contest and the grand prize was the opportunity to become a "Blizzard Player for a Day." Steve Slocum was signed to a genuine 2-day player contract, suited up in full pads, attended a Blizzard practice, and was in uniform and on the bench for the Blizzard home opener against the Albany Conquest.

Season Tickets for the 2007 season can be ordered and renewed starting Monday. Nick Olsen can be reached at (920) 965-8516. As the Blizzard gears up for a playoff run, fans can still purchase season ticket packages for the remainder of the season. Season Ticket Holders have first rights to their seats for home playoff games, as well as renewal rights for the 2007 season. It's never too early to get in on the action!
