Second Round Playoff Hockey Makes E-Center Debut Thursday

West Valley City, Utah - For the first time since opening in the fall of 1997, the E-Center will host Utah Grizzlies playoff hockey in the second round Thursday and Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday at 4:05 p.m.

Utah returns home for games three, four and five of the National Conference semifinals with their best-of-seven series with Victoria tied at one. The Grizzlies dispatched of Fresno four games to two in the first round.

Utah is proud to be affiliated with the New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

The Grizzlies have had winning regular seasons in 11 of their 14 years in existence but have not advanced to the second round since 1997 when they swept the Kansas City Blades three games to none when the team was still playing in downtown Salt Lake City.

Including 1994-1998, the Grizzlies have now qualified for the postseason in all five seasons as an Islanders affiliate and have advanced past the second round in four of those five years.
