
Second Half Struggles Stifle Charge

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Charge (1-7) of the NBA G League, presented by Cleveland Clinic, were defeated by the Grand Rapids Gold (6-4), 94-82, in front of 2,533 at the Wolstein Center on Friday night.
Tre Scott led the Charge with 18 points, seven rebounds and a career-high five steals in 35 minutes, tying his 5-steal effort at Raptors 905 on Jan. 20. Two-Way Player R.J. Nembhard posted his sixth double-double of the season by scoring 16 points and grabbing 11 boards with six assists in 36 minutes. On assignment from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kevin Pangos scored 5 points on 1-of-9 shooting with three steals in 27 minutes. Two-Way Player Brandon Goodwin made his Charge debut and scored 15 points, grabbed six boards and dished seven assists in 35 minutes. Tacko Fall added a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds with three steals in 33 minutes. Cleveland's 28 points in the second half made for a new franchise low for points in a half and the 82 total points were a new season low.
Matt Ryan paced the Gold with a game-high 21 points on 5-of-14 from three-point range with three steals in 42 minutes. Petr Cornelle posted a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds with two steals in 32 minutes. Nik Stauskas came off the bench to add 18 points and nine rebounds for Grand Rapids.
The Charge celebrated their second game in their "Cleveland Is the City" Hip Hop series with Kid Cudi inspired jerseys.
