
Second Half Starts at Home for Rattlers

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release
GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers start the second half of the 2009 Midwest League season with an eight game homestand. The first series at Time Warner Cable Field is against the Peoria Chiefs from Thursday, June 25 to Sunday, June 28. There is an off day on Monday, June 29 before the Clinton LumberKings visit from June 30 through July 3.
The Chiefs are the Midwest League affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. The Seattle Mariners, the former parent club of Appleton's baseball team from 1993 through 2008, are now the parent club of the LumberKings.
Below are some quick bullet points regarding special events for the first four games of the homestand:
- Thursday, June 25 vs. Peoria @ 7:05pm; Thirsty Thursday with soda and beer for $1. Also, the first 1,000 fans will receive a player poster of Timber Rattlers pitcher Cody Adams from Express Convenience.
- Friday, June 26 vs. Peoria @ 7:05pm; North Shore Bank Family Night with Kids 12 and under eating free. Kids 14 and under will get to run the bases after the post-game fireworks display. Also, the first 1,000 fans into the stadium will receive a Webkinz from the Fox Valley Humane Association.
- Saturday, June 27 vs. Peoria @ 6:35pm; Appleton Baseball Day and Vintage Baseball Night. There will be two games involving area youth teams on Time Warner Cable Field early in the day. An area vintage baseball club will play a brief game under old-time rules before the start of the regularly scheduled Timber Rattlers game. There is also a post-game fireworks display scheduled after the Rattlers and Chiefs play.
- Sunday, June 28 vs. Peoria @ 1:05pm; Bark in the Park. The left field grass seats will be set aside for Timber Rattlers fans with dogs. Dog owners may bring their dogs to the game. ED. NOTE: There will be more details about this promotion on Thursday. Also, Sunday is another Brewers Sunday with Timber Rattlers players wearing their Brewers themed caps and jerseys. There is a post-game autograph session for fans to meet the Timber Rattlers players.
