
Second Earnhardt Sr. Car Added to RoughRiders' NASCAR Weekend

Cedar Rapids, Iowa- The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders will welcome the RCR Racing Dale Earnhardt Sr. #3 GM Goodwrench Car- in addition to the Dale Earnhardt Sr. #3 Taz car- to the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena tomorrow night, the RoughRiders announced today.
The Riders' NASCAR weekend was originally scheduled to begin with just the Taz car on display during the Riders' game against the Sioux City Musketeers tomorrow night. However, fans now will also be able to get up close with the GM Goodwrench car, which Earnhardt drove from 1991 to 1994.
NASCAR weekend will continue Saturday night at the ice arena, as the Dale Earnhardt Jr. #8 Bud car arrives for the RoughRiders' game against the Sioux Falls Stampede.
Fans who purchase tickets to Friday night's game will be able to get a first hand look at both #3 cars from 6:00PM through the end of the second period. The following night, the #8 car will also be available to fans with tickets to that evening's game from 6:00PM through the end of the second frame. Both of this weekend's games start at 7:05PM.
Dale Earnhardt Sr., who died in a final lap crash at the 2001 Daytona 500, won seven NASCAR championships and a total of 76 races over the course of a 27 year career. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is one of NASCAR's top young drivers. He has won 16 Nextel Cup races during his six year career, including the 2004 Daytona 500.
The RoughRiders (8-3-0, 16 points) head into the weekend in second place in the United States Hockey League's East Division. This Saturday's game is the third of four straight Saturday home dates for the RoughRiders.
Tickets for all RoughRiders home games- including Saturday's- can be purchased in person at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office, over the phone at (319) 261-4625 or on line at www.roughridershockey.com. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days, including tomorrow. Ticket prices for this weekend's games range from $8 to $18 including a 50-cent facility fee.
