LONG BEACH , CALIF - David Seccombe pitched the best game in RoadRunners franchise history Thursday night in Long Beach against the Armada. He retired the final 19 in-a-row, a new franchise record, completing a two-hit shutout in the RoadRunners 2-0 series finale victory.

Seccombe's gem included seven strikeouts on 110 total pitches. The 27-year old righty improved to 6-2 on the season with the complete game outing.

The pitching was aided by stellar team defense. Rookie outfielder Chase Leavitt had three diving grabs in critical spots to keep the Armada off the scoreboard.

Henry Calderon went 2-for-3 on the night included both St. George runs. He scored on a Ruddy Yan single in the third and a Yosvany Almario double in the fifth.

Long Beach starter Ben Fox tossed eight quality innings - two runs on six hits - but dropped his season record to 3-5. Fox is 0-5 for the month of July.

The RoadRunners took two of three from the Armada at Blair Field to keep pace with second-half division leader Orange County.
