Toros' Roadtrip Ends in 9-5 Loss

Yuma, AZ-The Tucson Toros wrapped up their two week, ten game roadtrip with a 9-5 loss to the Yuma Scorpions.

The Scorpions jumped out to an early lead with two runs in the second inning and led the Toros from there one. Tucson starter Jason Jacome fell to 2-2 this season with a rough outing, striking out five but giving up seven runs in five innings.

The Toros outhit the Scorpions for the second straight night, but were inefficient converting runners into runs, leaving twelve on-base during the contest.

Third Baseman led all Toros with three hits and added a run and an RBI. Leftfielder Lino Garcia and Rightfielder Andre Marshall had two hit nights. Marshall belted his fourth homer of the season.

The Toros will return home to begin a three game series against the Victoria Seals Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Hi Corbett Field. The game can be heard live on COOL 1450 AM or on the Tucson Toros official website at www.tucsontoros.com.
