Bridgewater, New Jersey - The Erie SeaWolves (4-3) defeated the Somerset Patriots (4-3) by a score of 9-2 at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday night.

The Patriots scored the first run of the evening on a Josh Breaux (3) solo home run in the bottom of the first.

The SeaWolves answered with a six-run third inning that included Daniel Cabrera scoring on a passed ball, Dillon Dingler scoring on an Eric De La Rosa sacrifice fly, as well as Dane Myers (1) and Kerry Carpenter (2) each hitting two-run home runs.

Dingler brought in the seventh run of the night for Erie, knocking in Gage Workman on an RBI double.

Chad Bell pulled Somerset closer on an RBI double in the sixth that brought in Brandon Lockridge to make the score 7-2.

Quincy Neiporte finished the scoring for the SeaWolves, hitting a two-run homerun (2) in the top of the ninth, his second home run in three games.

The Patriots bullpen pitched 6.2 innings and allowed four earned runs while striking out six batters. Steven Jennings recorded 2.1 scoreless innings and struck out two.

Chavez Fernander (1-0) earned the win after he allowed an earned run on two hits in two innings pitched. Luis Medina (0-1) threw 2.1 innings without allowing an earned run and struck out four batters to suffer the loss.

The Somerset Patriots 2022 season presented by Ford will continue at home on Saturday evening with a 6:35 p.m. game against the Erie SeaWolves at TD Bank Ballpark.
