ENTERING TODAY'S ACTION... Today, the SeaWolves look for a series win as they take the field in the rubber game of a three-game series against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays) at MerchantsAuto.Com Stadium. The ‘Wolves and Fisher Cats have split the first two games of the series with Erie winning the opener 4-2 and New Hampshire winning last night, 8-2. With the loss, coupled with an Akron doubleheader sweep and a Reading win, the ‘Wolves have dropped back to third place in the EL South, seven games out of first and a game out of second. The ‘Wolves have won seven of their last 11 games, all against the Northern Division. After beginning the season with 56 consecutive games against the Southern Division, the ‘Wolves are in a stretch of 12 straight against the Northern Division. Erie's season-high is 11-games over .500 which has been done twice (May 13 21-10 and May 15 22-11)...Righty Jonah Nickerson takes the mound for the Howlers making his 14th appearance and 13th start of the season. Nickerson has alternated wins and losses in each of his last four starts since returning to the starting rotation on May 30. He took a loss in his last start against Portland in the first game of the road trip. He allowed four runs on nine hits with three strikeouts and no walks in a 5-0 loss.
