The Erie SeaWolves began the final series of the season with a 4-3 loss to the Altoona Curve(69-70) at Jerry Uht Park on Friday night. The loss dropped the Howlers to 57-81.
Altoona threw the first punch in the opening inning when Adalberto Santos singled, advanced to second on a balk, reached third on Ramon Cabrera's base hit, and came into score courtesy of a fielder's choice. The run gave Altoona an early 1-0 lead.
The SeaWolves answered in the second inning with a double from Brandon Douglas, followed by a Corey Jones RBI single, tying the game 1-1. Altoona came right back in the third inning, as Santos tripled to lead off and scored on a Cabrera RBI triple. Cabrera then came into score on Andrew Lambo's groundout, putting the Curve back on top, 3-1.
