SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Oklahoma City Blue fell to the Santa Cruz Warriors, 109-97, in Game 2 of the NBA D-League Western Conference Semifinals on Friday. The loss eliminated the Blue from postseason play, concluding the team's inaugural season in Oklahoma City.

Six Blue players scored in double figures as Maurice Sutton led the way with 18 points on 9-of-10 shooting to go with 13 rebounds, four blocks and two steals. Marquis Teague tallied 18 points and seven assists while fellow guard Semaj Christon scored 15 points with seven dimes. Talib Zanna posted 10 points and 12 boards. Off the bench, Richard Solomon and Xavier Alexander scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

After a tight opening quarter in which Santa Cruz outscored the Blue 22-19, Santa Cruz jumped ahead in the second period by outscoring Oklahoma City 38-21. The Blue began chipping away at the Warriors lead before making a hard run in the fourth - closing the deficit to six with 2:32 remaining. Santa Cruz outscored the Blue 9-3 in the final two and half minutes to hold off OKC's run and advance to the Western Conference Finals.

"We have to give credit to Santa Cruz," said Blue Head Coach Mark Daigneault. "They were the best team in the league during the season and they were the better team in the series. That said, I was proud of our team. Our players grew from the beginning of the season until now. It was a fun group because of their competitiveness and how coachable they were."

The Blue outrebounded the Warriors 51-49, pulling down 25 offensive boards.

Santa Cruz was led by James Michael McAdoo with 25 points and 13 rebounds.

In its first season in Oklahoma City, the Blue finished the regular season with a 28-22 record to advance to the playoffs as a Western Conference wild card. The Blue saw two NBA call-ups in Reggie Williams (Spurs) and Dwight Buycks (Lakers) and was assigned an Oklahoma City Thunder player on 10 occasions.
