(Sugar Land, Texas) - The Long Island Ducks defeated the Sugar Land Skeeters 3-1 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a three-game series at Constellation Field.

All of the Ducks runs came in the third inning against Skeeters starter Mitch Talbot. An RBI fielder's choice off the bat of Kirk Nieuwenhuis and a two-out, two-run double to left-center field by L.J. Mazzilli did the damage.

Sugar Land failed to get on the scoreboard until the bottom of the ninth when Jared Mitchell lined a solo homer to right off Enrique Burgos. However, Burgos struck out the side in the inning to seal the victory.

Ducks starter Sean Nolin (2-0) earned the win, tossing five scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out eight. Talbot (0-2) took the loss, giving up three runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks with four strikeouts in five innings. Enrique Burgos recorded his second save of the season despite allowing a run in the ninth.

The Ducks continue their road trip on Monday when they open a four-game series against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. at Regency Furniture Stadium. Fans can follow all the action on the Long Island Ducks Broadcast Network. Live streaming video and audio will be available via BoxCast on LIDucks.com, Facebook Live and the Ducks official YouTube channel. Left-hander Bennett Parry (1-0, 3.24) gets the start for the Ducks against Blue Crabs righty Daryl Thompson (1-1, 1.96).
