Sean Scott named U.S. Army Ironman Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia Soul wide receiver/linebacker Sean Scott was named the Arena Football League's U.S. Army Ironman Player of the Week today for his efforts in leading the Soul to a 75-59 win over the New York Dragons on Sunday in Philadelphia.

A three-year veteran of the Arena Football League, Scott (6'2", 200, Millersville) led the Soul last week with three receptions for 69 yards with two touchdowns and rushed for 13 yards with one score. On defense, he tallied 2.5 tackles, one interception and one pass breakup. This marks the third time he has earned an AFL weekly honor.

On the season, Scott has 24 receptions for 242 yards with four touchdowns. He is also ranked second in the League with 76 rushing yards and four touchdowns. On defense, he has recorded nine total tackles, three pass breakups and one interception.

Along with Scott, other players receiving league recognition for their play in Week 4 were Arizona Rattlers OS Damien Groce, who was named Offensive Player of the Week and Georgia Force DS Chris Brown, who was named ADT Defensive Player of the Week.

The Soul return to the Wachovia Center this Sunday, February 26, when they host the defending ArenaBowl Champion Colorado Crush. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. and will be broadcast live on NBC Sports.
