Stafford, Brown and Marshall receive ArenaFan Online Player of the Week Honors
For their performances during the fourth week of the Arena Football League 2006 season, Shane Stafford (QB, Tampa Bay Storm), Chris Brown (DS, Georgia Force) and Timon Marshall (WR/DB, Grand Rapids Rampage) have been named Offensive Player of the Week, Defensive Player of the Week, and Two-Way Player of the Week, respectively, by the writers and staff of ArenaFan Online.
Offensive Player of the Week: Shane Stafford was 36 of 52 passing for 458 yards and eight touchdowns in the Tampa Bay Storm's 67-64 overtime loss to the Orlando Predators. Stafford threw his final touchdown pass to Lawrence Samuels with no time left in the fourth quarter, bringing the Storm to within two points of the Predators. Stafford then called his own number, scoring the two point conversion on a run, sending the game into overtime. Stafford is in his fifth season with the.

Defensive Player of the Week: Chris Brown intercepted Las Vegas Gladiators quarterback Craig Whelihan three times to help the Georgia Force to a 54-34 victory. Brown returned the interceptions for a total of 41 yards, including 4-yard and 32-yard touchdowns. He also recorded 7.5 total tackles and 2 pass breakups. Brown is in his first year with the Force.
Other players considered for the ArenaFan Online Week Four Defensive Player of the Week were B.J. Cohen (Kansas City), Marquis Floyd (San Jose), Damon Mason (Austin), Denario Smalls (Kansas City) and Jeremy Unertl (Chicago).
Two-Way Player of the Week: Timon Marshall compiled two receiving touchdowns, and one on a 58-yard kickoff return as the Grand Rapids Rampage defeated the San Jose SaberCats 66-52. In addition to a career high three touchdowns, Marshall also posted personal bests in kickoff return yards (181), all-purpose yards (262) and total tackles (4.5). He had 81 receiving yards on 4-catches. His kickoff return is the longest scoring play in Rampage history. Marshall is in his second year with the Rampage.
