Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks were defeated by the San Diego Seals 14-8 Friday night at Pechanga Arena, with Calgary now 10-5 on the season with three games remaining.

The Seals began the game with three early goals before Jesse King found the back of the net to put the Roughnecks on the board. Zach Currier added another less than one minute later however the Seals managed to go on a four-goal streak into the second frame, including two short-handed and one on a power play. Tanner Cook answered with a power play goal, before a penalty shot to San Diego saw the Seals add another to their tally to leave them up 8-3 at the half.

Kyle Waters opened the second half scoring, before Josh Currier netted one to take the Roughnecks within three. San Diego kept their lead with two more goals, with Jesse King netting a goal on the power play to finish the third quarter. Kyle Waters and Shane Simpson both found the net in the fourth however it was not enough to complete the comeback, with San Diego adding four to take the game 14-8.

Kyle Waters and Jesse King both finished the night with 2 goals and 1 assist each. Josh Currier, Zach Currier, Shane Simpson and Tanner Cook each added one to the Roughnecks tally. The Seals outshot the Roughnecks 49-40, with Christian Del Bianco making 35 saves.

Despite the loss tonight, the Calgary Roughnecks have now clinched a 2023 NLL playoff position due to the Las Vegas Desert Dogs' loss to Colorado Mammoth.
