Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release
BILOXI, Miss. â Mississippi Sea Wolves Professional Hockey is proud to announce that the team will participate in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Third Annual Gulf Coast Light the Night Walk on September 30 at Jones Park in Gulfport.
Light The Night is the Society's nationwide evening walk and fundraiser to celebrate and commemorate people whose lives have been touched by cancer. Participants carry illuminated balloonsâwhite for cancer survivors and red for supportersâbrightening the sky along a two-mile walk in their communities.
The Sea Wolves are inviting and encouraging anyone to join their walk team or form their own team to support such a wonderful cause. Participants who raise at least $100 will carry an illuminated balloon through the walk to signify their personal commitment to the cause and will also receive an official LTN T-shirt. Dedication banners will be displayed to give everyone an opportunity to place a name or message in honor of or in memory of a family member or friend with cancer.
To join the Mississippi Sea Wolves Walk Team, please contact Albert Branca at (228) 388-6151 or abranca@msseawolves.com.
"Last year, our employees really got behind this cause. They came out and had a great time enjoying the walk and celebration," said Branca, Sea Wolves director of community relations. "We all know that cancer patients benefit from our efforts, and this year we are enthusiastic about forming a walk team and setting some exciting goals for our players and administration to reach."
"Funds raised through individual and corporate contributions will support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's mission to cure leukemia, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma as well as to improve the quality of life for patients and their families," said Amberly Wilson Collins, Light the Night campaign coordinator.
The festivities at Jones Park in Gulfport will begin at 5:30 p.m. on September 30 and the walk will commence at 7 p.m. in an effort to "Light the Night and brighten the future for millions." Food, drinks and entertainment will be provided for all to enjoy, so don't miss this one-of-a-kind opportunity to share in illuminating hope in the lives of hundreds of Mississippians touched by cancer.
