Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release

BILOXI, Miss. – The Mississippi Sea Wolves are proud to announce that the team helped raise $14,160 for the University of Southern Miss Alumni Scholarship Fund.

Southern Miss Night was organized through the Gulf Coast Metro Chapter of the Southern Miss Alumni Association and held on April 3. The Sea Wolves wore authentic Southern Miss jerseys, sporting the black and gold colors with the Golden Eagles logo emblazoned on the front of the uniforms. Following the game, which was won by Mississippi 4-3 over Louisiana, the special jerseys were auctioned off to the fans. The total amount raised also includes a portion of the ticket sales.

"This is the most money ever raised by the Southern Miss Gulf Coast Alumni Association at one event," said Linda Lang-Ishee, Gulf Coast Alumni President. "We're looking forward to partnering with the Sea Wolves for the second annual event next year."

"We're happy to give back Southern Miss, a community that has helped support the Sea Wolves," Sea Wolves account executive Brad Smith said. "It's a partnership that we look forward to developing as we continue to increase awareness of Sea Wolves Professional Hockey to the Pine Belt area."
