Sea Dogs Week Preview: the Teddy Bear Toss Returns
December 5, 2022 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Saint John Sea Dogs News Release
The Sea Dogs turned their luck around on the road this weekend, picking up 4 of a possible 6 points in their three game Quebec road trip with wins against Drummondville and Blainville-Boisbriand.
The road trip started with a visit to the Cataractes on Friday, the first meeting between the two teams since the Memorial Cup in June. Veterans Peter Reynolds and Brady Burns were able to find the back of the net, but the team was not able to recover after allowing three goals in the first period.
Saturday, the Sea Dogs continued on the road to Drummondville, ending their losing streak with a 3-2 win over the 7th place Voltigeurs. Brady Burns netted two goals, while Jacob Beaulieu scored his first in the QMJHL, the game winner, in the win.
Finishing their three games in three nights on Sunday, the Sea Dogs took another win in Blainville. Hurtubise put on in show in net, stopping 38 shots and earning the second star of the night in the OT win. Captain Charlie DesRoches and Eriks Mateiko scored in regulation and Cam MacDonald sealed the deal in overtime to win it 3-2.
