Portland Sea Dogs News Release
Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs have announced plans to add a technologically advanced LED video board at Hadlock Field for the 2004 season. The video board will be located in right field and will measure 16' X 20'.
The video board will be used to show head shots of players, more detailed statistics, Red Sox highlights, crowd shots, in-between inning promotions, replays of great plays, and much more. The existing left center field message center will remain intact and will be used to supplement the new video board.
The New England Ford Dealers have signed a five-year contract with the Sea Dogs as the official sponsor of the video board.
"The New England Ford Dealers are proud and excited to be affiliated with the Portland Sea Dogs," announced New England Ford Dealer Wally Camp Jr. "We're largely a family owned and run businesses and in my opinion, the Portland Sea Dogs are the Northern New England premier family attraction, so it is just a great fit. Also, we are already affiliated with the Red Sox in Boston, so being a part of that here in Maine is just a natural. Go Sea Dogs! Go Red Sox Nation!"
"The Ford Video Board will really help to enhance the fan experience at the ballpark," stated Sea Dogs President and General Manager Charlie Eshbach. "It creates a new entertaining medium for providing additional information to our fans and creates new exciting ways to generate revenue."
Multimedia based out of Rancho Cordova, California has been selected by the Sea Dogs as the company that will be providing the board. Multimedia has more than 3,000 outdoor signs throughout the world and more than 200,000 indoor signs. Multimedia signs in use today include ABC's Times Square board, the signs for the TD Waterhouse Center home of the Orlando Magic and at McMahon Stadium home of the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League.
"The Sea Dogs selected Multimedia signs based on Multimedia's reputation of providing quality products and their commitment to excellence," Eshbach said. "They came highly recommended to us and they proved that they were dedicated to serving the sport and media industry. In our decision process they were the first place team."
Opening Day at Hadlock Field is scheduled for Thursday, April 15th at 6:00 PM against the Binghamton Mets. Tickets to Opening Day and all Sea Dogs 2004 home games are currently on sale and available by calling the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 or on-line at www.seadogs.com.
