
Sea Dogs Recall Forward Chuckie Schembri From MJAHL

SAINT JOHN, NB --- Saint John Sea Dogs Director of Hockey Operations Mike Kelly announced today that the team has called up 19-year old forward Chuckie Schembri from the Dieppe Commandos (MJAHL). Dieppe was swept out of Kent Cup contention by the Woodstock Slammers earlier this month. Schembri recorded one assist and eleven penalty minutes in the series.
A native of Brampton, ON, Schembri has registered 25G-34A-59P in 149 career MJAHL games, all with the Dieppe/Moncton franchise. The 5'10", 170 lb. winger has also appeared in six games at the major junior level, having tallied 1G-1A-2P-4PIM in brief stints with the Moncton Wildcats (5GP, 2008-09) and Halifax Moosheads (1GP, 2009-10).
The Sea Dogs will host the P.E.I. Rocket tonight at 7pm in the second game of their opening round playoff matchup. Saint John currently leads the best-of-seven series 1-0.
