Montreal - Up 1-0 in their first-round playoff series, the Montreal Juniors looked to use their home-ice advantage to its full potential on Saturday night as they once again faced the Gatineau Olympics. In the end it was Jean Chabot's team that took Game 2 by a result of 4-2. The series will head to Gatineau tied at 1.

For the second game in a row, it was Gatineau's Adam Janosik that opened the scoring on the power play at 8:32 of the first period. His teammate Mathieu Gagnon would double the mark by taking a Yoan Pinette pass to an open cage less than ten minutes later, again with the man advantage.

Montreal put itself on the board at 4:01 of the second frame. Regular-season points leader Jeremy Gouchie was credited with the goal, with teammates Xavier Ouellet and Nicolas Chouinard picking up the assists. But the Juniors would soon get back into penalty trouble, and Olympics' forward Tye McGinn took advantage. The two teams went into the second intermission with Gatineau leading 3-1.

The Olympiques' Janosik was sent to the box for delaying the game in the opening minutes of the final frame, giving the Junior a power play chance of their own to work with. Trevor Parkes' second goal of the playoffs gave Montreal some hope of sending the game into overtime, just as Gatineau had done the night before. But Jean-Gabriel Pageau would put an end to those hopes with an empty-net goal 19 seconds before the end of the contest.

Montreal starting netminder Jean-François Bérubé made 21 saves in a losing cause, including a penalty shot awarded to Alex Noël, while opponent Maxime Clermont stopped 35 out of 37 pucks sent his way.

The next two games will be played in Gatineau this upcoming Monday, March 22nd and Wednesday, March 24th. On Friday, March 26 at 7:35 the series will transport itself back to Montreal.
