Saint John Sea Dogs News Release
SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs were involved in the lone Quebec Major Junior Hockey League trade of the day Monday.
The Sea Dogs acquired 18-year-old defenseman Jason Seed from the Gatineau Olympiques for a fifth-round pick in the 2011 entry draft.
The six-foot-one, 173-pound rearguard registered one assist and a plus-5 rating in 37 games in his second season with the Olympiques. The right-shooting defenseman also suited up in 11 playoff contests for Gatineau last season.
"We feel Jason offers us another experienced defenseman who has playoff experience. We feel this player gives us depth at a very important position and are thrilled to have him join our team," said Sea Dogs director of hockey operations Mike Kelly.
Seed is expected to join the team for practice Wednesday.
