SEA DOGS OFFER SCHOLARSHIP

Slugger and NextGen College Investing Plan team up once again In conjunction with the NextGen Most Improved Student Program, the Portland Sea Dogs are proud to announce the third annual "NextGen Field of Dreams Scholarship" for three deserving students.

Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded; one to each of the following grade level groups:

K-5, 6-8, and 9-12.

The goal of the Sea Dogs Scholarship Program is to inspire all students to go to college. Scholarship recipients will be selected prior to the NextGen Field of Dreams game on Wednesday, August 29. The scholarship funds will remain in a NextGen College Investing Plan Account until the winning student is enrolled in college.

Those who are interested in participating will be asked to write an essay based on the criteria outlined below:

The essay topic is as follows:

Describe in 250 words or less the importance of athletics and education.

All submissions should be include contact information for the applicant including name, grade, and phone number, and be mailed to the following address by JULY 20th, 2007:
