Casco Bay Brewing brings you what's on tap for the next Sea Dogs Homestand. The Sea Dogs return home from the All-Star break beginning on Thursday, July 17 for a four game series with the Norwich Navigators.
Thursday, July 17th Derek Lowe Bobblehead Doll B&M Baked Beans
Be sure to get to the ballpark early on Thursday, July 17th, when the Sea Dogs host the Norwich Navigators at 7:00pm, so you can get your Derek Lowe Bobblehead Doll courtesy of B&M Baked Beans. Eastern League All-Star Game- The Eastern League All-Star Game will be played tonight, Wednesday, July 16th in New Britain, CT. The Sea Dogs have five representatives at the mid-summer classic Kevin Youkilis, Kelly Shoppach, Jeremy Owens, Josh Stevens, and Jorge De La Rosa. The game is televised at 7:00pm tonight on NESN.
MLB Future's Game: Portland Sea Dogs third baseman Kevin Youkilis and pitcher Jorge De La Rosa both appeared in Sunday's All-Star Futures Game in Chicago.
Youkilis drew a walk in his only at-bat and played two innings in the U.S. 3-2 win. De La Rosa pitched to two batters in the seventh inning, getting a pop-up and a strikeout.
Portland manager Ron Johnson was a coach for the World Team.
Akron's Grady Sizemore was named the MVP with an RBI single and a home run.
MLB All-Star Game: Former Sea Dogs Edgar Renteria and Luis Castillo were named to the National League All-Star team.
Kevin Youkilis: Youkilis has reached base in 50 consecutive games, the longest current streak in professional baseball. The streak is the longest of his career. It is the second longest streak in Sea Dogs history behind Kevin Millar's 71 in 1997. Millar's 71 is the Minor League Baseball record.
Tickets Going Fast: The Portland Sea Dogs have already Sold Out 16 games this season. Tickets for the next homestand July 17-20 are extremely limited. Reserved Seats only remain for 5 out of the final 21 home dates. The Sea Dogs wish to urge all fans who interested in tickets this year to order as soon as possible so that you don't get shut out. The Sea Dogs are on pace to have their highest average attendance in franchise history.
