(NEW BRITAIN, CT) -- Four Altoona Curve players made their mark on Wednesday's Eastern League All-Star Game at New Britain Stadium.

Jose Castillo and Shawn Garrett each singled and scored a run, Chan Perry scored, and Mike Johnston struck out two in a relief appearance as their Southern Division squad fell to the Northern Division, 6-5 before a capacity crowd.

New Britain's Terry Tiffee thrilled the home folks with a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the ninth for the Northern Division.

Castillo, who played shortstop, singled to open the game and scored later in the first inning.

Garrett singled to open a game-tying, two-run rally in the top of the ninth inning and scored one of the tallies.

The 30-year old Perry, the oldest player in the contest, reached base and scored a run.

In his first professional all-star game, Johnston fanned a pair of batters in his eighth-inning relief stint.

Curve left-hander Sean Burnett was also selected to the Southern Division team for the All-Star Game. The 20-year old did not pitch in the exhibition because he started and threw 90 pitches in Monday's regular season game against Akron.

The Curve resumes regular season play Thursday in Erie with the first of a five-game series. In a match-up of right-handers, Altoona's Landon Jacobsen (6-6, 2.35) will oppose Kenny Baugh (2-6, 5.89) in the series opener at 7:05 p.m.
