STAYING IN NEW ENGLAND : The Sea Dogs and New Britain Rock Cats (Twins affiliate) open up their final series of the season on Thursday night at New Britain Stadium...Tonight's pitching matchup of LHP Henry Owens and RHP Jose Berrios is a rematch of the Futures Game on July 13th in Minnesota...Portland is 0-2-1 in their last three road series, dropping eight of their last nine games away from Maine...The Rock Cats just lost two of three to the Altoona Curve to begin their homestand.

THEY GRABBED THE FINALE : The Binghamton Mets scored all four runs over three innings (3-5) and held on to beat Portland, 4-2 on Wednesday night at Hadlock Field...Sean Coyle gave Portland a 1-0 lead with a solo-homer (#12) to lead-off the second against winning pitcher LHP Steven Matz (4-1)...Matz beat Portland for the second time this season, workings seven innings on seven hits, two runs and four strikeouts...Binghamton scored all four runs off losing pitcher RHP Mike Augliera (4-9)...DH Brian Burgamy had four hits for the B-Mets...David Chester finished 1-for-4 with a run-scoring single in the sixth.
