Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators' late comeback attempt came up short on Thursday night as they fell 5-3 to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in front of a huge crowd of 6,857 at Metro Bank Park.

Zach Kroenke battled to tie a season-long with seven innings pitched, in which he allowed five runs on eight hits. New Hampshire hit a two-run home run in the first inning and a solo home run in the third off Kroenke. However, the lefty settled down and fired three scoreless frames before allowing two runs on two hits in the seventh inning. All five of New Hampshire's runs were scored with two outs. Derek Self finished the contest with an impressive two scoreless innings in which the right-hander struck three batters.

The Senators managed just four hits in their first seven scoreless at-bats before breaking out in the eighth inning. Caleb Ramsey and Matt Skole walked in front of Kevin Keyes, who dropped a single in between three Fisher Cat defenders. Ramsey scored on a wild pitch with Jason Martinson at the plate. Martinson followed with a sacrifice fly and Drew Vettleson did the same to cut the New Hampshire lead to 5-3. The Senators then went in order in the ninth inning. Harrisburg had six hits and drew six walks for the evening.

Tomorrow night the Senators and Fisher Cats will begin at 7:00 p.m. with fireworks coming after the game. James Simmons will face off against New Hampshire's Casey Lawerence in the ball game. The game can be heard beginning with the pregame show at 6:45 a.m. on 1460 AM or via senatorsbaseball.com, 1460theticket.com or the iHeart Radio app.
