NEWS AND NOTES
NOW PART TWO STARTS: The Portland Sea Dogs and Richmond Flying Squirrels were postponed on Friday night...On Saturday, the two teams start a three-game series with a single-admission doubleheader at Hadlock Field...The 'Dogs have played 32 of 42 series this season, and have gone 5-9-2 in series both home and road...Lefty Dedgar Jimenez looks for his seventh win of the season, making his second career start against Richmond.
HOW SWEEP IT IS: Portland hit four homers in game one and Kyle Hart (7-7)tossed a two-hit in the second game, as the Sea Dogs swept Erie in a twinbill, 9-1 and 5-0 on Thursday...Matt Kent (7-7) earned the win in the opener, tossing six innings on five hits and one run...Michael Chavis, Chad De La Guerra, Josh Ockimey and Luke Tendler each homered...Hart's complete game in the second game was the first of his career, his battery-mate Austin Rei hit a two-run homer.
