LET'S ROLL AT HADLOCK FIELD : Tonight is the homer opener for the Portland Sea Dogs, as they take on the Hartford Yard Goats (Rockies affiliate) in the first ever meeting between the two clubs...New Britain relocated to Hartford following last season, and the Yard Goats name was chosen from a final list of five, beating out Hedgehogs, Praying Mantis, River Hogs and Whirlybirds... A Yard Goat comes from old railroad slang as a term for an engine that switches a train to get it ready for another locomotive... Portland is 10-12 in Hadlock Field openers, winning game one of a doubleheader last Opening Day.
ONE SWING DID IT : Lane Adams hit a solo-homer off Rob Wort (0-1) to lead off the eighth inning, giving the Trenton Thunder a 1-0 win in the rubber-game of a three-game series on Wednesday night...Matt Tracy earned his first win of the season for the Thunder, working 1.2 innings...Portland starter Justin Haley recorded six strikeouts over 4.1 innings pitched...Henry Ramos and Jose Vinicio each had two hits for the Sea Dogs.
