FINALLY, WE PLAY BASEBALL (SERIES 0-0):The Sea Dogs and Reading Fightin Phils were postponed the first 2 days of the season, and open up 2015 with a doubleheader at Hadlock Field...Today kicks off a 21-game season series between the two teams...Portland won 14 of 22 from Reading in 2014, but went 6-5 against the Phils at Hadlock Field...The Sea Dogs are coming off an historic season, winning a franchise-record 88 games, but fell to the Binghamton Mets in the Eastern Division Championship Series in five games.
TODAY'S MATCHUPS: Luis Diaz made the final start of the 2014 season, and gets the ball for Portland in the opener...Reading's Aaron Nola is ranked the #2 Prospect in the Phillies system according to Baseball America and makes the first start of the season for Reading...In game two, Justin Haley makes his 8th Double-A start (including post-season)...Haley has a quality start in all previous Double-A appearances...Jesse Biddle, the #9 Prospect in Philadelphia's system, makes the start in Game 2...Biddle is in his third season with the Fightins.
