Cape Breton Eagles News Release
SYDNEY- The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles will hold their annual Remembrance Day game on Wednesday, November 7th, with a ceremony prior to the game against the Chicoutimi Saguenéens. Members of the Cape Breton Highlanders, Branch 12, Branch 128, and Branch 138 will participate in a pre-game ceremony. The pre-game puck drop will be conducted by Cpl Stevens and Cpl Patrick. Both are the most returnees from an overseas tour of duty, having served in Latvia.
The 5th Canadian Division has units located in 30 communities and is comprised of more than 6,600 full time and part time soldiers, Canadian Rangers and civilian personnel in Atlantic Canada. The Division is responsible for Canadian Army operations throughout Atlantic Canada and provides unique combat support enablers from units from coast-to-coast.
Every year on November 11, Canadians pause in a silent moment of remembrance for the men and women who have served, and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace. We honor those who fought for Canada in the First & Second World War's, the Korean War, and those who have served since then. More than 1.5 million Canadians have served our country in this way, and more than 100,000 have died.
