Charlottetown Islanders News Release
The Charlottetown Islanders are inviting men and women in uniform, along with our country's veterans, to the Eastlink Centre on Friday night in honour of Remembrance Day.
Current members and veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces can attend the game free of charge by picking up a ticket at the Eastlink Centre Box Office. Game time is 7:30PM at the Eastlink Centre as the Islanders take on the Chicoutimi Sagueneens.
President of Operations Craig Foster expresses the importance of paying tribute to those who have served our country.
"I've had the opportunity to visit the battlefields across Europe; it truly gives you an appreciation of what our veterans went through for our nation." Said Foster. "It's important that we take the time to pay tribute to those men and women have made and continue to make the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom."
Prior to the game there will be a ceremonial puck drop led long-time Islanders billets and veterans Bill and Janet Moore. The national anthem will be performed by the Prince Edward Island Regiment Band.
Get your tickets for our annual Remembrance Day Game at the Eastlink Centre Box Office, by phone at 902.629.6625, or online at www.eastlinkcentrepei.com.
