Scott named AFL Ironman of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia Soul wide receiver/linebacker Sean Scott was named the Arena Football League's Ironman of the Week today for his efforts in leading the Soul to a 49-33 win over the Nashville Kats on Friday.

A three-year veteran of the AFL, Scott (6'2", 200, Millersville) led the Soul last week with nine receptions for 103 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for nine yards on two carries. On defense, he tallied 7.5 tackles and recorded his first sack of his AFL career. This marks the fourth time he has earned this AFL weekly honor and second this season.

On the season, Scott leads this Soul with 63 receptions and 14 touchdowns while ranking second on the team with 722 receiving yards. He also ranks second on the team with 94 rushing yards and six touchdowns. On defense, he has recorded 32.5 tackles including a team-high four for a loss, five pass breakups, two interceptions, a fumble recovery and a sack.

Along with Scott, other players receiving league recognition for their play in Week 12 were Colorado Crush OS Damian Harrell, who was named Offensive Player of the Week and San Jose DS Clevan Thomas, who was named ADT Defensive Player of the Week.

The Soul return to the Wachovia Center this Friday, April 21 when they host the Columbus Destroyers.
