Crush's Damian Harrell named AFL's Offensive Player of the Week

DENVER - The Arena Football League announced today that Colorado Crush offensive specialist Damian Harrell was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week for Week 12 of the 2006 season.

HARRELL (6-3, 182, Florida State), who is in his eighth AFL season, hauled in a career-high 14 passes for 196 yards and a career-high tying five touchdowns in Colorado's 55-49 win at Kansas City on Sunday. Harrell efforts helped propel the Crush to their third straight playoff berth, as Colorado sits atop the American Conference with a 9-3 record.

Harrell currently leads the AFL with 115 receptions, 1,479 receiving yards and 43 total touchdowns.

He enters this week's game versus the Utah Blaze needing only four touchdowns to break the AFL's single-season receiving touchdown record of 46, which is held by five different players. Harrell also leads the AFL with 258 points scored and is on pace for 344 points, which would break the league's single-season record of 310 set by San Jose WR/DB Barry Wagner in 1997, while Wagner was playing for the Orlando Predators.
