AFL names players of the week

NEW YORK - Philadelphia Soul WR/LB SEAN SCOTT, Colorado Crush OS DAMIAN HARRELL and San Jose SaberCats DS CLEVAN THOMAS have been named Ironman, Offensive Player and ADT Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, for Week 12 of the 2006 season.

IRONMAN: Scott (6-2, 200, Millersville), who is in his third AFL season, recorded nine receptions for 103 yards and four touchdowns and two rushes for nine yards in the Soul's 49-33 win at Nashville on Friday night. Two of his touchdown catches came in the fourth quarter. Scott added one sack and had 7.5 total tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

OFFENSIVE: Harrell (6-3, 200, Florida State), who is in his eighth AFL season, snared a career-high 14 passes for 196 yards and five touchdowns in Colorado's 55-49 win at Kansas City on Sunday. Harrell hobbled off the field with 10 minutes left in the game, but returned on the following possession to help the defending ArenaBowl champion Crush clinch a 2006 playoff berth. He currently leads the AFL with 115 receptions, 1,479 receiving yards and 43 total touchdowns.

ADT DEFENSIVE: Thomas (5-10, 199, Florida State), who is in his fourth AFL season, recorded 10.0 total tackles, one fumble recovery for a return of five yards, one interception for a return of 11 yards and two pass break ups in San Jose's 69-59 Western Division win over Las Vegas on Friday night.

Ironman of the Week candidates included: Arizona's Randy Gatewood, Austin's Sedrick Robinson, Colorado's Ahmad Hawkins, New York's Chris Anthony, San Jose's James Roe and Utah's Kevin Moffett.

Offensive Player of the Week candidates included: Austin's Kevin Nickerson, New York's Nick Browder and Mike Horacek, Colorado's John Dutton, Orlando's Joe Hamilton, San Jose's Mark Grieb and Ben Nelson and Utah's Siaha Burley.

ADT Defensive Player of the Week candidates included: Arizona's Clarence Lawson, Colorado's Rashad Floyd, Orlando's Kenny McEntyre and Philadelphia's Eddie Moten.
