Schwartz Headed to Long Beach

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - Jason Fitzsimmons, head coach of the South Carolina Stingrays, announced today the trade of winger Brandon Schwartz to the Long Beach Ice Dogs in exchange for an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Stingrays have been busy this off-season signing a total of nine players for the upcoming season. Highlighted happenings around the team include the announcement of Cail MacLean as captain for the 2006-2007 season, signing veteran center Matt Reid for his third season with the Rays, and securing our net by signing Davis Parley for another year between the pipes. The other players signed this off-season are defenseman Scott Romfo, wingers Cam McCaffrey, Josh Anderson, and T.J. McElroy, and centers Evan Schwabe and Jamie Fraser.

The puck drops on the 14th season of hockey in the Low Country on October 20th at Gwinnett and returns to home ice on the 21st against Columbia.
