A.J. MacLean accepts Bombers qualifying offer

Dayton, OH- Head Coach and General Manager Don MacAdam announced today that the Dayton Bombers of the ECHL have re-signed forward A.J. MacLean.

"A.J. got better and better as the season went on," said MacAdam. "At the end of the year he was a top contributor for us and we look forward to having him start this season the way he finished last season."

MacLean appeared in 70 games for the Bombers last season, scoring 26 points (9G, 17A) and accumulating 24 penalty minutes.

"I look forward to coming back to the Bombers organization," said MacLean. "I am excited about the chance to play in front of the fans in Dayton this upcoming season."

Prior to joining the Bombers last season, the 6'0", 170-pound native of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, appeared in 69 games and scored 26 points (12G, 14A) for the Quad City Mallards of the United Hockey League during the 2004-05 season. MacLean also appeared in seven playoff games with Quad City and recorded one goal and one assist.

MacLean becomes the ninth player to sign or re-sign with the Bombers for the 2006-07 season, joining the likes of Marco Caprara, Greg Labenski, David Currie, Paul Kelly, Preston Briggs, Andy Cote, Dan Knapp and Jon Booras.
