Schneekloth Heads Back to Grand Rapids

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC South Carolina Stingrays Head Coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that Aaron Schneekloth has been called up to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. Schneekloth spent time earlier this season with the Griffins and will remain with the team for the remainder of the season.

"Aaron has a chance to further prove himself and try to earn a contract at the next level," commented Fitzsimmons. "Grand Rapids was impressed by what he brought to the table the last time out and they are excited to have him back.

Schneekloth played two games in Grand Rapids during a March call-up. He finished this season with eight goals and 22 assists for 30 points in 41 games with the Stingrays.

Schneekloth earned a spot in the 2003 ECHL All-Star game in Estero, Florida in January with his fine play this season.

Schneekloth, a rookie, played nine games with the Rays last season, after completing a four-year career with the North Dakota Fighting Sioux. The native of Calgary, Alberta had a goal and five assists for six points in his nine games last year with the Rays. In his senior year with the Sioux, he netted eight goals and added 21 assists for 29 points in 35 games.
