Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
Cincinnati, Ohio â The Cincinnati Cyclones, an affiliate of the National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks, today announced that defenseman Ryan Gaucher (go-SHAY) has been assigned from the Norfolk (Va.) Admirals of the American Hockey League.
The native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan began the season with the Cyclones and was named to the East Coast Hockey League's All-Star Game in January while serving as Cincinnati's lone representative. Gaucher was later named as one of the league's post-season First-Team All Stars.
Prior to signing with Norfolk the first week of March, Gaucher led all Cyclones players with 65 points (19g, 46a) in just 54 games played. In the AHL this season, Gaucher finished with 7 points (3g, 4a) in 21 games played. Nineteen of those contests came while with Norfolk and two with the Cleveland Barons.
"Ryan is one of the best players in this league," said Cyclones Head Coach Malcolm Cameron, whose team is preparing to face Toledo in the Northwest Division Finals. "If he had stayed with us the whole season, I think he would have received a lot of consideration for the league's MVP honors. As a defenseman, he controls the play at both ends of the ice and his presence will bring the rest of our team up a notch.
Cincinnati travels to the Toledo Sports Arena for Games 1 and 2 of the best-of-five series that starts on Friday at 7:30 PM. The series will shift to U.S. Bank Arena for Game 3 and a Game 4, if necessary. The third game of the series is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15 at 7:05 PM, while the fourth game would be played on Wednesday, April 16 also at 7:05 PM.
Cyclones individual playoff tickets, which for the second round cost $19.50, $17.50, and $11.50, can be purchased at the U.S. Bank Arena Box Office between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and after 12:00 p.m. on weekend event days. Fans can also purchase tickets through all Ticketmaster outlets, including select Kroger's stores, on-line at www.ticketmaster.com or charge tickets by phone by calling (513) 562-4949. For more information, please call the Cyclones at (513) 421-7825 ext. 144.
