
Schedule Set For 2009 Brockton Rox Baseball

Brockton, MA (December 15, 2008) - The Brockton Rox officially announced its 2009 schedule today, and will welcome the reigning Can-Am League Champion Sussex Skyhawks on Opening Night, Thursday, May 28th presented by CVS/pharmacy.
The Rox will play 94 games in 2009 including 47 home games, beginning with a four-game set to open the gates of Campanelli Stadium for the eighth season of Brockton Rox baseball on Thursday, May 28th. Opening Weekend, along with all weekends throughout the season will feature the return of perennial fan favorite promotions including Friday Night Fireworks and Sunday Family FUNdays. Also back on the schedule in 2009 is Thirsty Thursdays where fans can find special $2 drafts in the right field Beer Garden.
After the successful inclusion of "Kids Eat Free Mondays" in 2008, the Rox will be expanding its weekday promotions to include "Two-for-Tuesdays" which will feature special concessions menu options available at a two-for-one price.
Start times for Rox games will also shift slightly heading into the new season. All Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday night games will begin at 6:05 PM. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday night regular start times will remain at 7:05 PM. Sundays will also remain the same as previous years with May and June Sundays starting at 1:05 PM, and July, August, and September Sundays scheduled for a 5:05 PM first pitch.
Currently, the Rox have Tuesday, July 21st marked as a 12:00 matinee game with several opportunities reserved in the month of June to add the annual HarborOne School Day to the schedule.
All geographic stops along the Can-Am League tour will remain the same although the Rox will face a new league opponent located in Nashua, NH. The American Defenders of New Hampshire have replaced the Nashua Pride and joined the now five-year-old Can-Am League. The league will also operate a team out of Ottawa, Ontario, which has yet to be named. The Rox other Can-Am League opponents will be the Quebec Capitales, New Jersey Jackals, Atlantic City Surf, Worcester Tornadoes, and the Skyhawks.
