Savannah Sand Gnats News Release
SAVANNAH, Ga. - The silver lining in the Gnats 7-1 loss to Hickory Sunday is that the Gnats won't have to see Crawdads third baseman Mike Carlin again in 2005.
Carlin who in game two of the series teed off with a homer and 3 RBI, smacked a pair of taters and a tripled en route to a 5 RBI performance. Carlin completed the set against Savannah 6-for-16 (.375). Morales struggled to his sixth loss, surrendering four runs, two earned on seven hits. Edgardo Baez provided the lone Savannah offensive highlight, blasting his eighth homer of the season deep into the left field bleachers in the bottom of the sixth. Savannah heads north for four game sets in Kannapolis and Greensboro. The Gnats return home to kick off an eight-game home stand Wednesday, July 13 at 7:05 p.m. vs. Asheville. Tickets are available online or by calling the Gnats box office at 912-351-9150.
