
Saturday Night's Match Decided in Shootout - Titan Come Away with 8-7 Win

Gabriel Bernier scored twice for the Wildcats in a wild 8-7 shootout loss to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, Saturday at Avenir Centre.
Jacob Hudson contributed a goal and two assists while Mathis Cloutier and Charles-Antoine Pilote added a goal and an assist each. Connor Richard and Yoan Loshing also scored.
Moncton has earned points in three consecutive games.
Acadie-Bathurst opened the scoring midway through the first period before Richard tied the game four minutes later on a power play. It was 1-1 after twenty minutes.
The Titan sandwiched an even strength goal between a pair of poewr play strikes in the opening eight minutes of the second to take a 4-1 lead.
Hudson cut Moncton's deficit to two with a shorthanded goal with eight minutes left in the second.
Two minutes later, the Wildcats' captain turned a clean faceoff win in the offensive zone into a goal for Loshing..
The visitors took a 5-3 lead with under three minutes left in the frame, but Cloutier got Moncton back to within one again less than a minute after that.
Acadie-Bathurst led 5-4 through two periods.
The Titan netted another power play goal five minutes into the third.
Bernier's first of the night came two-and-a-half minutes later to make it a 6-5 game.
He scored again four minutes later - after an Acadie-Bathurst goal - to cut the Titan lead to 7-6.
Pilote finally got Moncton back on even terms with under five minutes to go.
Philippe Daoust and Loshing scored in the shootout for Moncton, but Acadie-Bathurst found the net three times with the game-winner coming in round five.
Rookie Wildcats goalie Vincent Filion made 25 in his QMJHL debut.
