Sarmiento, 'Riders Defeat Naturals 7-4

The RoughRiders topped the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 7-4 Thursday night from Dr Pepper Ballpark, securing a series win.

With two outs in the first inning and the bases loaded, Naturals' starter Chris Dwyer issued back-to-back walks to give the 'Riders a 2-0 lead.

Frisco starter Neil Ramirez, making his second start since coming off the disabled list, pitched three innings and struck out five for a no decision.

Again with two outs in the fourth, the 'Riders scored two runs to extend their lead to 4-0.Mitch Hilligoss' double brought in Engel Beltre before Elio Sarmiento drove Hilligoss home on a single.

The Naturals rallied to score three in the sixth off Frisco reliever Fabio Castillo. Two consecutive singles and a passed ball put runners in scoring position for Northwest Arkansas. Mario Lisson drove in one on a groundout to second base and was followed by a two-run homer to left by Ryan Eigsti.

Elio Sarmiento gave Frisco breathing room in the home half of the sixth with a two-run blast to make it 6-3 'Riders.

Richard Bleier earned his fifth win of the season with a scoreless fifth and sixth innings pitched.

Frisco will look to sweep Northwest Arkansas Friday night from Dr Pepper Ballpark as team-wins leader Ben Snyder (8-4, 4.57) toes the rubber against right-hander Jake Odorizzi (3-2, 5.31).
