
Sandoval Placed on DL, Seanez and Segura Recalled

SALT LAKE CITY (May 29, 2009) - The Salt Lake Bees announced today that the club has placed infielder Freddy Sandoval on the disabled list with a sprained left wrist. The club has also recalled right-handed pitcher Rudy Seanez and infielder Jean Segura from extended spring training.
Sandoval, 26, has appeared in 44 games for the Bees in 2009, hitting .304 with 12 doubles, four triples, five homeruns, 31 RBI and 11 stolen bases. In 2008, he hit a team-high .335 with a league-leading 176 hits and 45 doubles for Salt Lake. Sandoval made his major league debut on September 8, 2008 against the New York Yankees. The Tijuana, Mexico native was originally selected by the Angels in the eight round of the 2004 draft.
Seanez, 40, joins the Bees from extended spring training after a 2009 season with the World Champion Philadelphia Phillies. In 42 games for the Phillies, he owned a 5-4 record with a 3.53 ERA. The Brawley, Calif. native was originally selected by the Cleveland Indians in the fourth round of the 1986 draft.
Segura, 19, also joins the Bees from extended spring training. He appeared in 11 games for the Tempe Angels in 2008, hitting .250 with four RBI. The native of San Juan, Dominican Republic signed as a free agent with the Angels in 2007.
