Rome, GA - The Rome Braves fell for the sixth straight time losing 4-3 tonight against the Savannah Sand Gnats at State Mutual Stadium in front of 2,785 fans.
Braves scored their first run off of a pass ball scoring Jordan Schafer in the first inning (1-0). In the second, Josh Morris doubled to right field and later scored on a single through a hole by Concepcion Rodriguez (2-0). In the fifth, Schafer scored on a double play giving Rome a 3-0 advantage.
The Sand Gnats began their comeback in the sixth, D.J. Wabick scored off Leivi Ventura's double to centerfield. (3-1) The Braves held their lead strong into the eight when things began to unravel. The Sand Gnats tied the game (3-3) on a two out two run double by Josh Thole. Savannah took the lead 4-3 in the top of the ninth on another two out double this time by Dan Stegall to seal the win..
Tyler Wilson gets the loss for the Braves in relief bringing him to 1-2. Sand Gnats pitcher David Koons records the win. (1-0)
